Carbon is now a registered Microfinance Bank.
If you’re already thinking “oya congrats. But how does this one affect me abeg?” No wahala. Let me explain what that means for you.
Deposits to your Carbon account are now insured by the Nigeria Deposit Insurance Commission (NDIC)
Summary: Your money can never miss road. Deposits now have insurance coverage so you can fund your account with confidence. π°
You can fund it from anywhere
Summary: Carbon* is listed on all banks’ online platforms, so you can transfer to your account the same way you do now to any bank. You can also share your Carbon account number with your friends for them to do ‘housewarming‘ for the account.

*The bank name (for now) is One Finance but in a few weeks that will also reflect as Carbon. I’ll let you know when it happens. π₯

π± RATE CHANGES
Carbon will be making a few adjustments to its rates from December 1st. Interest on the funds in your Carbon account will now earn 2% per annum, which will be paid out monthly.
Rates on newly-created investment plans will also be adjusted. New investments created from December 1st will earn interest from 8.5% – 12.5%.
